‘Liberal democracy, with rule-of-law, separation of powers, checks and balances, civil and human rights protections, and so on, is a relatively recent innovation in human history. I am among those who believe liberal democracy needs and deserves full Christian support; but in the US and around the world there is plenty of evidence of Christians being attracted to illiberal democracy or outright undemocratic governance. This talk reflects on this evidence and offers a Christian defense of democracy—using central Christian theological and moral convictions—for these perilous times....’
The Main Event:
The event will begin promptly at 6pm, Thursday April 10th, in the Tate Theater at UGA.
For those less familiar with UGA's campus, you can park in the Tate Center Deck (subject to UGA's visitor parking rates)

Q&A: for time management sake, Q&A will be facilitated by text message. During the presentation, you may text questions for Dr. Gushee to (706) 493-9994. We will present as many as possible within the time constraints.

Dinner will be served starting at 7:45pm. We will allow time for folks to arrive and get settled before beginning our conversation, which will wrap up by 9pm. Registration for dinner is closed.
