When it comes to restrooms, The Table has been 'making the best of it' for too long! Our Student Center was built in 1959, and while other updates have been completed over the past 4 years, the restrooms, by all accounts, have outlived their welcome.
To meet the needs of all our 21st century guests we have secured architectural plans to completely rebuild as 8 single-occupancy, gender-neutral restrooms and add a new ADA restroom with a shower. We also plan to replace the last of the building's original plumbing.
With these updates, The Table will more faithfully live into its commitment to widen the welcome and respect the dignity of all people, and could also be eligible to serve as an emergency shelter for Athens/Clark County.
Having just passed the halfway point in our NEXT80 Capital Campaign, this is something of a final push to complete the last truly critical updates to the historic Presbyterian Student Center. Every gift helps, and none more than YOURS!
